IED SCHOLARSHIPS: THE ITALIAN TRIP
REGULATIONS
IED – Istituto Europeo di Design in collaboration with Feeric Fashion Week, awards 1 special merit-based scholarship to attend a Summer Course in Italy in 2019 to the winner of “the Italian trip” contest held in occasion of the Feeric Fashion Week, Sibiu 2018. The candidates (from 18 till 99 years old) can show their creativity and will have the chance of being awarded a 100% scholarship for the Course of their choice.
CONTEST AND CREATIVE WORKS (“CONCEPT”) OF THE CANDIDATE
THE ITALIAN TRIP – A bridge between Romania and Italy; Imagine a physical or innerself travel that would bring nearer the two Countries through their common features but also through their diversity.
A virtual bag full of your creativity. A fabric, a color or a memory can become inspiration for a collection of clothes or accessories. What is your idea of Italy? How can you convey it with a dress? The Romanian tradition can coexist with the Italian one. Those who wish to take part in the contest are requested to sketch a capsule collection which portrays their personal vision of the “Italian trip” in combination with the Romanian country heritage.
The capsule collection should be mandatorily made by 5 looks, de ned on a spring-summer collection and can be referred to one of the following clusters: woman-man-child-unisex. All collections should be accompanied by a short description of the concept (max. 500 words), a mood-board and technical sheet (fabric and colors). All participants will also have to submit their personal resume.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINE
The contest is open to all designers that made the final part of the Feeric 33 contest.
Deadline for submissions is July 10 ,2018 (midnight Romanian time) and the jury will communicate its decision to the semifinalists within the following week. Semifinalists will have to confirm the acceptance within 3 days after the result is received.

As soon as registration occurs, each candidate will be invited to send 5 looks including a mood-board, a colour and a fabric sheet, one written concept (max 500 words) and a CV with educational and work experience at the e-mail address indicated on the reply-message. All files must be sent in PDF format and should NOT exceed 10 slides.
All participants should make sure that their ideas are realistic and can be produced within a short term perspective.
PRIZE
Competition will award one 100% scholarship for a summer course in IED Italy in 2019. Travel fees, housing and all other costs shall be covered by the winners.
SELECTION OF WINNER AND PANEL
Evaluation will occur exclusively according to the unquestionable judgment of the panel of professors and creatives of Istituto Europeo di Design presided by its creative director, Giovanni Ottonello.
On July 14th Istituto Europeo di Design will announce the finalists by email. The participants who will be selected are invited to take part to the evening gala of Feeric Fashion week on July 21st during which the winner will be awarded with a 100% scholarship to attend a 2019 summer course in one if the Italian campuses of Istituto Europeo di Design.
