Egon Schiele was an Austriac renowned major figurative painter of the early 20th century. His work is noted for its intensity and its raw sexuality, and the many self-portraits the artist produced, including naked self-portraits. The twisted body shapes and the expressive line that characterize Schiele’s paintings and drawings mark the artist as an early exponent of Expressionism. His work brought him to jail in Neulengbach because it wasn’t a normal thing during that period.
The main idea of the editorial concept was to represent part of that life and the editorial team wanted to recreate an unknown atmosphere that represent those days, reason why they used the black background, to represent the fear. Poses and light colors were a representation of this art work like ”mother and daughter” and their self-portraits.
