33: Does your brand position itself as a SUSTAINABLE brand? 

Yes and No, we would prefer to be positioned as a fashion accessory brand, it is because we are sustainable but also fashionable.

33: How the brand was born and how many people are involved in the team now?

When I saw shocking news that the whales were killed by plastic waste and all the plastic bottles on our beautiful beach, I really wanted to do something to help this issue. It is hard to believe that the sustainable slogans or telling people about this issue would not help to prevent this matter in reality. However, I do believe people would do anything to get pretty and fashionable. Therefore I decided to make this fashionable and reusable water bottle which can be a cool fashion accessory so that it can become a one fashion trend and hoping to see more and more plastic bottle usage will be reduced.

There are a lot of people who got involved in the development of this water bottle and working with 10 different factories. I spent two years to make this bottle to make it into reality, it was truly difficult to make something unique and beautiful product.

33: What do you think is the biggest challenge for W. Bottle right now?

Right now the biggest challenge is to change the perception of people to realise reusable water bottle can be a chic fashion accessory. We are working on this with collaborating with different fashion brand and designers. Some of our W.Bottle bags will be announced soon in up coming future.

33: How do you want to achieve the long-lasting concept for your brand? 

I think making sustainable design is must for the up coming future for any brand. As well as our first concept of brand image of w.bottle is how to change the perception of water bottle in a more sustainable way. I want people to re-imagine the water bottle through w.bottle with ‘Hydration’ will encapsulate the freshness, energy and the accessibility for movement within the product.  Also I believe of concept of being “cool and sustainable” will never go off in fashion industry. As long as we continue our design concept in this way, I am confident our brand will last for long time.

33: How do you determine what is durable design?

Elegant, low profile, sophisticated and high quality of product

33: What happens to that part of a production that does not get sold?

Luckily, we have not reached that level yet.

33: How far do you go in terms of sustainability? 

Basically, it found that 95 percent of plastic packaging worth up to $120 billion is wasted each year. As sustainability was a key topic this year in any design industry, I believes it is designers, rather than brands, that need to set an example when it comes to environmental responsibility.

33: Where could you serve as a role model for others?

  • I do not allow my team drink from plastic bottle in front of me 
  • We use zero packaging for most of our items.
  • I make my family and friends feel guilty when they have to drink from a plastic bottle
