Rapidly ascendant upstart Eli Smart may have just released the blissfully sunkissed anthem “Come Down” just last week, but he isn’t resting on his laurels by any means – as can be seen in the just unveiled video for the track, which he filmed by himself with the help of a few friends.
“Everybody’s a loner, don’t fight the come down” – WATCH HERE
Looking as gorgeous and timeless as the song itself is, the video is utterly beautiful and compelling, almost a sepia toned snapshot of golden youth shot in the muted jewel tones of a majestic setting sun.
– ELI SMART
We wanted to capture this sentiment live in a continuous shot single take. My mates and I drove across the island to the magical mountainous region of Kauai called Kōke’e. There’s an atmosphere in Kōke’e and especially on the drive back down the mountain that is like no other, the raw beauty of this part of the island is haunting. The combo of golden hour on the west side and playing this tune plus the company of my closest mates is what it’s all about sometimes. Enjoy!
The track is taken from his forthcoming “Boonie Town” EP, released on Polydor on April 4th and destined to stamp him as one of the acts to watch in 2021. Over four glorious tracks Smart’s irresistible, sun-dappled vision is celebrated fully and without cliché, displaying the impressive breadth of Smart’s musical prowess. Watch this space.
