THE WEEKND: ENERGETIC PERFORMANCE IN PARIS X “AFTER HOURS TIL DAWN”

The concerts of major American artists may seem similar, but this is not the case for The Weeknd and his “After Hours Til Dawn” tour. After his concert in Nice, Abel Tesfaye, alias The Weeknd, thwarted the expectations of concert regulars. By offering a more energetic performance than the previous week during his first meeting in Paris. The show took place in front of a crowd of 80,000 people at the Stade de France. Before his second date in Saint-Denis, still scheduled for this Sunday evening and already sold out, The Weeknd had shared photos of the Eiffel Tower on his Instagram account, followed by 62 million subscribers, like a real tourist. However, he quickly returned to his role as showman for the concert. Raising high expectations for this energetic new performance.

The Weeknd takes over France Gall’s “Drop the Girls”

Like his concert in Belgium, but unlike the one in Nice. The singer stunned his fans by performing France Gall’s “Drop the Girls”! The Canadian singer, known for his beginnings in experimental music, demonstrated his love for France by performing this emblematic song from the 1960s, in French, with a slight accent. Thus testifying to his deep knowledge of French culture, surely acquired thanks to his collaborations with Daft Punk.

During the last part of his show, marked by his crystalline and high-pitched voice, reminiscent of that of Michael Jackson (one of his greatest inspirations), he kept repeating that he was at the “Stade of France, in Paris”. To mark this unforgettable moment of July 29 in Ile-de-France, he also unveiled a PSG collector’s football shirt, bearing the XO logo, his own brand.
