In a historical moment that dramatically resembles the one lived and experienced by Carrington, on a political, economic, and social level, the issues she represents in a manner dreamlike in her works become increasingly current. The gap between dream and reality, wonder and horror, becomes increasingly thin..
Wonder and dream become at the same time a way of escaping from the drama of the present and build a reality that is more akin to our imagination, a liminal space in which contrasting emotions meet and merge.
In “Sogno o son desto?”, the question ranges between dreamlike and tangible, touching on themes such as dialogue with nature, metamorphism, the definition (or not) of identity.
