By focusing on documentary moments like a first look, intimate interactions, and genuine laughter, we bring authenticity to the forefront. I approach each wedding as a personal journey, ensuring that our work reflects the essence of the couple’s love and the emotions of the day. We guide our couples into meaningful moments while maintaining an unobtrusive presence, allowing them to be natural, and then we immerse ourselves fully in capturing the magic unfolding in front of us.
Your work blends documentary, fine art, and cinematic storytelling. How do you integrate these different approaches during a wedding, and can you provide an example of a personal favorite moment that illustrates this blend?
The blend of documentary, fine art, and cinematic storytelling happens organically. Documentary moments are about capturing raw, authentic emotions, like the ceremony or the spontaneous moments during the celebration. Fine art comes into play when we shoot details like dresses, jewelry, or table settings, paying attention to light, composition, and aesthetics. Cinematic storytelling emerges when we have the space to experiment with light, shadows, and angles to create stunning visual compositions.One of my favorite moments happened during a shoot in Saint-Tropez when it unexpectedly started raining, causing the whole family to rush indoors. Inside the house, we found beautiful spaces bathed in soft, natural light, so we decided to continue the shoot there. The interplay of light and shadows created stunning fine art images, while the elegant interiors added an editorial touch. The moments right after they hurried inside, capturing the raw emotion of the shift, gave us some of the most powerful documentary shots. It was a perfect blend of all three elements of our style.
You’ve created a global brand with hubs in several cities. How do you maintain the core essence of Lux Visual Storytellers across different cultures and settings? What adaptations do you find necessary?
We always focus on the essence of Lux Visual Storytellers—authenticity, connection, and creativity—no matter where we work. While we adapt to different cultures by learning about their traditions and preferences, our core philosophy remains consistent. It’s about finding a balance between honoring local customs and ensuring that our visual language stays true to who we are as storytellers. This includes being attuned to the unique light, textures, and emotions specific to each location while still maintaining our signature style of timeless, emotional storytelling.
The emotional aspect of your work is a central theme in your philosophy. Can you share a memorable wedding that profoundly moved you, and how did that experience shape your future storytelling efforts?
One wedding that deeply moved me was with a couple who had overcome incredible personal challenges together. During their ceremony, the raw emotion, tears, and sense of relief were so powerful that it profoundly shifted the way I approach emotional storytelling. It made me realize how much more meaningful our work can be when we truly understand the love story behind each couple. Since then, I’ve made it a priority to connect with my couples on a deeper level, to truly grasp their unique journey, and to let those emotions shape the narrative of their day.

The key to maintaining the integrity of Lux Visual Storytellers is fostering a deep sense of connection and trust within the team. I ensure that each team member feels valued and understands the importance of the work we do. We discuss our values—authenticity, creativity, and connection—before every shoot, and I always encourage open communication. In high-pressure situations, we rely on each other, knowing we’re all striving for the same goal: capturing genuine, beautiful moments that tell a powerful story. We also maintain a sense of calm, reminding ourselves that we’re here to witness and capture joy, not to create stress.
Your studio has received numerous awards for its work. How do you feel about the awards culture in the photography industry? Do they motivate you or do you feel they can detract from the creative process‘
While awards are a wonderful recognition of our hard work, they are not our main motivator. What keeps us inspired is our passion for storytelling and the connection we create with our clients. However, awards do serve as a reminder that we are on the right path, and they motivate us to continually push the boundaries of our creativity. At the end of the day, we strive to create work that feels true to who we are and what we believe in, not simply for the accolades.
Having been a judge for organizations like ISPWP, how has this changed your perspective on photography competitions? What insights have you gained that you apply to your own work?
Being a judge for ISPWP has given me a broader perspective on the power of storytelling in photography. It’s not just about technical excellence; it’s about the emotion and the story behind the image. I’ve learned to evaluate photos not just for their visual quality but for how well they capture a moment or feeling. This has influenced my own work, as I now place even more emphasis on authentic moments and the narrative they convey, rather than just beautiful images.
Can you explain the significance of your morning ritual with vanilla Chai-Latte before beginning your creative process? How do small daily practices contribute to your overall productivity and mindset? It helps me clear my mind and prepare myself for the day ahead. Small practices like this are important because they ground me, helping me to stay centered and focused. It’s these little things that set the tone for a productive and inspired day, allowing me to approach my work with intention and clarity.
Your focus on natural tones and editorial sophistication is quite distinctive. How do you choose your color palette for different weddings, and what role does lighting play in your artistic vision?”
The color palette for each wedding is influenced by the venue, the couple’s style, and the natural environment. I work with a range of soft, natural tones to create a timeless feel, allowing the couple’s emotions and the setting to shine through. Lighting is everything in our work—it’s what transforms a scene from ordinary to extraordinary. Whether it’s the soft light filtering through a window or the dramatic shadows of a sunset, we use lighting to add depth and sophistication to every frame.
As the founder of a successful company, how do you manage the balance between creativity and the practical aspects of running a business? What structures have you put in place to support this balance?
Balancing creativity with the practical side of running a business is challenging, but it’s essential. I’ve learned to delegate tasks that are outside of my creative expertise, such as administrative work, so that I can focus on the artistic side. We’ve built a strong team at Lux Visual Storytellers, and I trust them to handle the day-to-day operations, allowing me to stay focused on the vision. We also prioritize clear communication and regular check-ins to ensure that everyone is aligned and working toward the same goals.
In an ever-evolving digital landscape, how do you see the role of photography and videography changing in the context of weddings and special events? What future trends do you foresee?”
Photography and videography are increasingly becoming integrated with new technologies and social media. The ability to share moments in real-time and the demand for personalized storytelling are trends that will continue to grow. I also see a shift towards more immersive experiences, where couples want their wedding memories to go beyond just photographs and videos, but to include multimedia and interactive elements. We’ll continue to adapt by staying ahead of the trends, while keeping our focus on emotional storytelling.
At the same time, I’ve noticed that as technology evolves faster and we strive to capture more and more, there’s also a growing return to the essence of things. When the essence of a moment is truly strong, we find ourselves being more present and appreciating the moment itself. This is something we need to value. Photography and cinematography have always shared the same core purpose, and that will remain unchanged. The equipment will continue to improve, but at the heart of it all, our humanity comes first—this is what will always stay as the foundation of our work.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that authenticity is key. In both our work and our relationships with clients, honesty and openness are essential. Storytelling is not just about creating beautiful images; it’s about capturing the truth of a moment, and connecting deeply with the people you’re working with. Going forward, I want to continue creating work that speaks to the heart, that reflects the uniqueness of each couple, and that builds meaningful connections through the stories we tell. Our future goals are centered around growing as a creative force while maintaining the personal touch that makes Lux Visual Storytellers special.
