FEERIC FASHION WEEK 2025: DAY 1

Sibiu, a city steeped in history, has once again proven its prowess in the fashion world with the spectacular kickoff of Feeric Fashion Week 2025. This year’s first day was not just an exhibition of talent; it was a powerful manifesto showcasing the transformative power of fashion to address sustainability, memory, and visual exploration.

Kicking off the festivities was “Timeless Threads” by Hooldra, an eco-conscious collection highlighting the beauty of second-hand clothing. With a nod to the 1960s aesthetic, this collection was both a feast for the eyes and a call to action, demonstrating how creativity can be harnessed for sustainability. The innovative use of collected textile waste, over 3,000 kilograms, shows a commitment to real change and responsible consumption, seamlessly merging style with substance.

Wijnruit‘s OP:1 collection further intrigued with its exploration of memory and identity. Using a range of recycled materials, the designer created modular pieces that evoke stories of the past, reminding us of the values that shape our present. This concept of fashion as a narrative is powerful and resonates strongly with today’s conscious consumer.

The collective presentations brought together emerging voices in fashion education, offering a glimpse into the future of the industry. The collaboration of international institutions displayed the vibrant innovation budding within young designers at Feeric Venue, hosted this year by Promenada Sibiu. Participants included the Ukrainian Fashion Education Group, Newgiza University, New Bulgarian University, Almog Pinto Cohen, and “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad. The models paraded gracefully through a diaphanous setting, illustrating the transformative power of innovation coupled with academic training in shaping the future of the fashion sector.

Ana Farima’s “Bodaprosti” collection enchanted us with garments that encapsulate the fragility of childhood memories, enhanced with eco-friendly materials. Each piece is a testament to craftsmanship, sophistication, and the connection between tradition and modernity.

The underground parking lot of Promenada Sibiu was transformed into an extraordinary contemporary art gallery featuring two dynamic fashion shows. INSIDE Upcycling Couture presented the collection “Appearance of Transition │ Transition of Appearance,” a visual study of metamorphosis, showcasing hand-crafted pieces made from abandoned materials. This collection juxtaposed light and darkness, vibrant color against monochrome elements.

Subsequently, the brand WE – Wilczewska Emilia unveiled “DOM,” inspired by the concept of home as a sanctuary. Utilizing materials such as pillows, quilts, and curtains, the pieces were transformed into spacious silhouettes that embody comfort and solace.

The day concluded with breathtaking presentations from the National University of Arts Bucharest in the same industrial backdrop of the underground parking lot with a selection of bachelor’s and master’s works.

Soon after “Escapism” by Michal Duraj from the Faculty of Art in Wroclaw, Poland – the collection was a poetic reflection on nostalgia, merging fictional narratives with exquisite craftsmanship.

Feeric Fashion Week 2025 has set the bar high, beautifully intertwining creativity with sustainability and showcasing the artistry that flows through the veins of the fashion world. This event confirms that Sibiu is not just a participant in international fashion; it is a beacon of hope for the future. We can’t wait to see what the following days will bring as the runway continues to celebrate innovation, diversity, and elegance. Don’t miss out—follow along for updates and be part of this magical experience.

Feeric Fashion Week 2025 is co-financed by the City Hall of Sibiu and the Sibiu County Council, with significant support from primary partners NEPI Rockcastle and Promenada Sibiu.
