Feeric Fashion Week Day 3: A Dazzling Finale Celebrating Global Creativity and Cultural Dialogue
The 17th edition of Feeric Fashion Week culminated with an unforgettable finale, transforming the city into a vibrant stage for international fashion creativity. The closing day was a remarkable celebration that brought together emerging designers and prestigious academic institutions, offering a visual marathon that traversed unexpected spaces and contrasted aesthetic universes, truly capturing the essence of contemporary fashion.
The day’s festivities began with a special project, HAIDE under the auspices of Feeric Hub, meticulously documented and coordinated by Karla Ciambur. This cultural initiative aimed to bridge Romanian traditions with the modern world, making authentic folk values relevant for today and future generations. “Haide” symbolically united artists, craftsmen, researchers, and contemporary creators in a choreographed dance of arts and cultural identity, setting the tone for the day’s impactful presentations.
As the sun ascended, the first showcasing took place in the basement of Morii Boromir, featuring Natalie Soto’s enchanting collection, “Paper Dolls”. A meditation on healing and reinvention, Soto transformed fragments of memory into romantic silhouettes infused with an edgy flair. The collection featured reimagined shirts, cargo pants, bubble skirts, and babydoll dresses in a captivating palette of black, pink, and yellow. Employing repurposed textiles such as jersey, lace, organza, and hand-woven fabrics, each piece was adorned with hand-stitched details, pearls, bows, and woven bags—demonstrating that beauty can indeed emerge from remnants of the past.

The energy shifted as we moved to the Municipal Stadium of Sibiu, where student presentations offered bold perspectives on the contemporary world from the rooftop terrace. Students from the West University of Timișoara delved into the complexities of collective memory, identity, trauma, and rebirth, all expressed through innovative volumetrics and textures. Their work was a poignant reminder of the fragility of human experience amidst the rapid pace of digital isolation, skillfully rendered through their unique interpretations of materials.

Not to be outdone, designers from the National University of Arts “George Enescu” in Iași—Alexandra Țigăeru, Delia Briceag, and Teodora Gaciu —constructed a visual journey where past, symbolism, and future coexisted in contrasting harmony. Their collection seamlessly blended reinterpreted tradition, spiritual symbolism, and deconstructive sustainability, showcasing the rich tapestry of influences that characterize contemporary fashion.

The evening culminated in a spectacular display at the much-anticipated Gala in Huet Square, where the audience was blessed with a tapestry of styles and ideas. The Feeric Gala was a celebration of diversity manifested in fashion, serving as the perfect crescendo to the week-long event.
Among the highlights was Mild Power – Kauno Kolegija HEI typifying the dialogue between delicacy and strength, femininity and struggle, as rendered in knits, velvet, and raw denim. It was an evocative commentary on the dualities women navigate daily and the power derived from embracing both softness and tenacity.

Daiana-Mihaela Stăncioiu’s “UNAPOLOGETIC” merged two-dimensional photographic artistry with three-dimensional garments, adorned with botanical details and intricate embroidery. This collection invited viewers to engage with fashion as an extension of art, where personal narrative and clothing intertwine harmoniously.

The IDA – International Design Academy & IFM Academy took a bold stance with “Timeless Monochrome Sophistication,” exploring balance and elegance in a striking black-and-white palette. This minimalist approach served as a reminder of the enduring power of simplicity in fashion design.

The International Balkan University showcased “Reflections,” a stunning synthesis of sustainability, streetwear, and contrasting aesthetics, celebrating fluid draping and recycled materials. This collection truly embodied the ethos of responsible fashion without sacrificing style.

From the Kaunas University of Applied Sciences came two remarkable narratives: “Does She Speak Samogitian?” by Akvilė Bernotaitė, which reanimated Samogitian tradition through modern aesthetics, and Kaylee Johnson’s “Grief,” inspired by brutalist architecture, adding a poignant layer of emotion to the conversation around form and function.

Viamoda‘s eight designers explored gender identity through the lens of androgyny and historic femininity, utilizing lace, embroidery, and functional sustainable pieces to challenge and expand the dialogue surrounding gender expression in clothing.

Finally, the collective showcase from the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca brought together both BA and MA students in a visual laboratory highlighting haute couture embroidery, innovative volumetrics, and a dedication to sustainability. This collection served as an exhilarating reminder of the creative potential flourishing within academia.

Hosted by the esteemed TV personality, Cosmina Păsărin, the Gala Feeric Fashion Week emphasized the vibrant creative energies that have transformed Sibiu into a hub for emerging fashion talent.
