ANNOUNCING THE 17TH EDITION OF FASHIONCLASH FESTIVAL

From 14 to 16 November 2025, the FASHIONCLASH Festival will return for its 17th edition in Maastricht, a magic dimension where fashion intersects with a myriad of artistic disciplines. This international and multidisciplinary festival offers a stage for a new generation of designers, artists, and performers hailing from over 25 countries. It is not merely a showcase of fashion; it is a transformative experience that challenges conventional boundaries in the visual arts.

The festival’s program is impressively diverse, featuring performances, exhibitions, films, workshops, talks, and participatory projects. Notable highlights include The CLASH House’s fashion performance showcase at ENCI and the Fashion Film Program & Awards at Lumière Cinema. This multi-faceted approach embraces not only fashion but also film, art, culture, and education, embodying the very essence of what a modern festival should represent.

What excites me most about the FASHIONCLASH Festival is its potential to change the game in visual arts. Imagine a world where more festivals adopt this inclusive and interdisciplinary model—how beautiful our fashion landscape would be! In an era where the fashion system appears broken, we need to create a new system and festivals like FASHIONCLASH remind us of the urgent need to explore new possibilities, respecting and preserving our planet, rethinking our cultural practices through education.

The campaign for the 2025 festival, developed by Ülkühan, explores how digital creation reshapes notions of identity and authorship. By utilizing AI-generated portraits and still lifes, the campaign blurs the lines between human creativity and machine influence, raising important questions about creation and representation in the fashion world. This is a crucial dialogue to have as we navigate an increasingly digital landscape.

FASHIONCLASH Festival is about fresh perspectives and innovative storytelling that encourages critical reflection and interdisciplinary exchange while building a community where everyone can participate, regardless of their background. Is that artistic dimension where we explore infinite possibilities in visual arts. I believe that by embracing such models like FASHIONCLASH Festival, we can work towards a more sustainable and thoughtful fashion ecosystem—one that prioritizes education, creativity, and awareness. Let’s support initiatives like this that inspire change, cultivate talent, and champion a brighter future for fashion and beyond.
