SIMON CRACKER + SANS SOLEIL

Fashion is such a complex world and today, more than ever, collaborations give rise to innovative and inspiring collections that mix distinctive subcultures, diverse backgrounds, and mutual inspirations. One such remarkable partnership is the campaign launched for the collection featuring the jewelry brand Sans Soleil, led by the visionary designer Camilla Brustio, in collaboration with Simone Botte, the creative force behind Simon Cracker. Their enduring friendship and shared artistic values have forged a unique synergy that infuses their respective projects with passion and emotional depth.

Camilla and Simone’s connection is rooted in years of mutual admiration and creative exchanges. Known for wearing each other’s pieces and contributing to each other’s lookbooks, they embody an artistic symbiosis that thrives on the unexpected. Their collaborations epitomize the beauty of contrasts, marrying hard edges with delicate details—an approach that, while seemingly contradictory, creates a harmonious dialogue between their brands. Their latest campaign captures this essence vividly. Real-life photographs taken in authentic settings underscore the everyday experiences of those involved with both brands. This collective and spontaneous support showcases the individuals behind the designs and highlights the essence of community that both Camilla and Simone cherish. Embracing genuine interactions filled with affection, the campaign evokes the warmth of creativity shared among like-minded souls.

Camilla Brustio, originally from Milan, is a jewelry designer whose journey in the fashion industry has equipped her with a unique perspective. After gaining valuable experience with leading fashion brands, she felt compelled to establish a creative outlet that genuinely reflected her identity, ideals, and aesthetic vision. Thus, Sans Soleil was born—a brand that not only showcases exquisite jewelry but also aims to create a community that champions important societal messages.  Reflecting on the brand’s inception, Camilla remarked, “Sans Soleil was born post-COVID, from the desire to create something entirely my own, where I could be 100% creative, away from commercial constraints and fashion calendars.” This spirit of liberation allows Camilla to explore themes close to her heart, with her annual collections often dedicated to empowering women who face oppression or persecution.

Camilla’s day-to-day routine embodies tranquility amidst the chaotic backdrop of Milan. With a penchant for coffee and a deep love for her pets, her mornings are grounded in simple rituals that help maintain a sense of balance. “I have a very calm life; someone might call it ‘boring,’ but in a frenetic city like Milan, it’s essential to safeguard one’s priorities,” she shared, emphasizing the importance of nurturing her passions and relationships.

Conversing about her inspirations, Camilla expressed admiration for Simone Botte and his philosophy of reinventing discarded garments. Their shared vision reflects a deep commitment to sustainability and emotional expression through fashion, making their collaboration not just a business venture, but a powerful statement against the flaws in the current fashion system.

Simon Cracker has always been influenced by artists and other creative brands that create completely different things but with the common element of putting all the emotions they feel into what they do. Camilla is a friend and a rock to me, and we want to be there for each other. This is a wonderful thing, given these times. All creatives must unite to move forward. It’s the only way to fight this flawed fashion system.

Simone Botte, founder of Simon Cracker

Together, Camilla and Simone have discovered a wonderful balance—where clothing designs are seamlessly complemented by the jewelry that provides the final touch of elegance.“Simone creates garments, and I add the ‘bling’,” Camilla observed, noting their aligned vision and mutual understanding of fashion’s potential. This collaboration enhances their storytelling, allowing them to craft collections that resonate on multiple levels.

Their common purpose extends beyond aesthetics; both creators are committed to advocating for societal change and fostering a sustainable future. They aspire to craft a community that embraces inclusivity and support, creating a resilient network that empowers individuals from all walks of life.

How did your brand come about?

Sans Soleil was born post-COVID, from the desire to create something entirely my own, where I could be 100% creative, far from commercial rules and fashion calendars. It was also born, and above all, to build a community and convey messages I care about, to concretely help parts of society that are unfortunately still invisible today. The product is the visual representation of all this.

Does your creative process engage you emotionally?

Yes, very much. I focus and research topics dear to me that are spread across the year as a macro theme. For example, the 2025 collections were dedicated to the figure of women, often oppressed and/or persecuted as such.

What happens in a typical day for you?

First of all, coffee, lots of coffee! Immediately afterward, I feed my pets and sit on the computer until the evening. I have a very quiet life; some would say ‘boring,’ but in a frenetic city like Milan, I believe it’s very important to safeguard one’s priorities: mine are my interests and those of my loved ones.

Favorite animal?

Cat: my first cat in particular, EasyChill.

Favorite number?

8, it’s a number that recurs in my life.

Favorite color?

Obviously black, like my entire wardrobe.

What do you think of Simon Cracker?

I met Simone a while ago, and I immediately loved the idea of giving new life to previously discarded pieces. I think it’s a wonderful message, one that requires even more creativity and talent.

Why does this collaborative campaign work so well?

Simona makes clothes, I add the bling, we complement each other and have the same vision of fashion.

What do you have in common with Simone?

Simone and I immediately agreed on the message we want to spread through our brands, the struggles we want to fight. We have a common background and interests, we are committed to our community, and we are seeking a shared model of a sustainable society, one that doesn’t stop at the product alone but embraces our lives 100%.

Make a wish…

I won’t say it or it won’t be expressed (my grandmother used to say)

Make a promise.

I promise to always be true to myself and my principles.

Say something to someone you can’t hear, without saying who.

I miss hearing you laugh.

Any future projects or inspiration you’d like to share with us?

The goal is to grow the Sans Soleil community, reach as many people as possible, and tell them they’re not alone; together, we can truly create a just society for all.
