B GOLDEN is a fashion jewelry brand from Luanda – Angola.
Fashion designer Brenda dos Santos decided to create a jewelry brand inspired by her grandmother, because of her passion for accessories which she can relate to and is also passionate about. B Golden is the first brand in Angola that opened a store for jewelry and accessories only. The brand is inspired by both an older generation and the young one. They want people to be themselves specially when it comes to details.

The brand works with several types of material: semi-jewelry, gold plated, stainless steel, glass, zirconia stones and others. They have an assortment of earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, sunglasses, watches, body accessories with modern, sophisticated, innovative designs of multiple variations for women and little girls. The brand works with a factory that supplies all the material, Brenda dos Santos idealizes, creates her sketches and they produce the pieces. She “believes that women have the power to achieve great things. The smallest detail can always make you feel confident, loved, beautiful and strong in your own skin”.

IN CONVERSATION WITH BRENDA DOS SANTOS, FOUNDER OF B GOLDEN JEWELRY
When did you first realise you wanted to pursue a career as a jewelry designer?
I am not sure, but I think it was in 2018, but was sure of it in 2019 when I received samples of my first pieces.
How important is your cultural background for your brand?
My cultural background is very important, because its where I come from and its essential that I can relate with the culture.
Who have been your biggest mentors in this industry and what is the best advice they have ever given you?
I feel like my mentor has been my husband for sure, every step of the way, his advice is always to keep going with my dream and never quit.
If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before beginning your career what would it be?
The one thing I would tell myself if could go back would be “Pay attention to the signs, do not quit on what you believe because you are more powerful than you think.”
What was your biggest fear when starting your own brand?
I think it was how people would react to something so new in the country, I know that everyone loves accessories, but I was scared it wouldn’t be welcomed how it should.
What do you want women to feel when wearing your jewelry?
When wearing my jewelry, I want women to feel liberated, to feel like they can do anything with just a small detail in their possession.
Who would you most like to see wearing your jewelry?
I love seeing everyone wearing my jewelry, but I would also love to see Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, Gabrielle Union, Lori Harvey, Zendaya, Ryan Destiny, Olivia Pommier which is my favorite blogger on Instagram, its so many that my list would not finish today.
Name two icons you admire or you would like to collaborate.
Gaia Repossi and Cartier, I would LOVE to collaborate with Repossi it would be a dream or Swarovski.
Do you have a most treasured item in your personal jewelry collection?
I do, it’s my set of earrings, my most special pieces that after designed I was in love with it.
A letter to your future self. What would you write?
“Dear Brenda, I want to tell you that you are an amazing person and have a golden heart. You are so strong and keep your faith in God so powerful that I am sure that now you made it even further. I am sure that all you dreamed of all your life today you got it. Hope that you have built the childcare center for homeless children, hope that your company is as big as you always dreamed but I am sure you still help everyone you can the way you can. The world has been a mess but with help I am sure it can get better. I want to say that right now I am trying my best to get to my vision, I want the world to know my brain, to know Angola with love. Always be your best self, show your golden heart and treat everyone with kindness.”
