In early October, Joseph Auren launched his spaceship and headed to Los Angeles for Fashion Week 2022, where he debuted his second collection, Future to the Moon. Describe yourself as a creative and when was your first approach to fashion?
Basically, I have Alway been skill full in many domains. Therefore, my first approach in fashion came by my creativity when I was in the kitchen area. I was always creative by presenting dishes. I thought I had something special : like an artistic vision that I wanted to manifesting in what I have been always passionate, particularly in fashion. So, I decided to leave cooking for fashion where I am very blooming and sharing my vision of life & art through Joseph Auren.
What is the most challenging issue as an independent designer ?
As young designers, we have to do everything by ourselves. When we start, we are in charge of many tasks. As for example, we create alone, we design, sew and also managing the social networks & inquiries alone.
How do you manage to connect with your customers and what kind of actions are you taking for this?
Instagram stays for me the best tool to be connected with my community of customers. Then, my brand is shared in many press magazines & influencers that give me visibility and traffic to my account and my website. Moreover, I plan to expand my brand in many physical shops in International.
How do you think your label can play an important role in your daily client’s life? Describe your typical client’s personality in a few words.
Wearing Joseph Auren’s is not only about fashion, it deals with a real lifestyle. My typical clients can be an average smart & sportive person and a celebrity as the same time. Just like sensitive people.
I always wanted to highlighting the figure of manliness through my designs. I wanted to make something smart, sophisticated and extra but to being too much or vulgar. This by keeping my DNA : minimalist and futuristic. My pieces are special and they are worn for special days or occasion and daily life too dealing with smartness & fitness.
What do you think about the opportunity of selling your pieces online nowadays and where we can find them?
Online shops make me able to sell to all over the world by following my marketing & communication strategies. I control and have an eye on my stock & I am able to communicate only on some precise pieces if I want or not. As for example, generating promotion discounts or sometimes else. You can find my designs on my website and in physical shops soon.
How many people are involved in your team?
My team comprises myself of course and my assistant in my atelier in Berlin. I have an external person who manages my press relations and inquiries in Paris. Also, I am enrolled in a showroom in Los Angeles that makes me in relation with international magazines & influencers. They helped me to organise my fashion show in LA too.
How your brand is making a difference in fashion industry?
My brand is making a difference in fashion industry by the way of celebrating & highlighting the figure of manliness only. I don’t make them too much, just in the middle by giving to men a royalty & powerful aura.
Describe your experience at Los Angeles Fashion Week in a few words.
Los Angeles was amazing! People were very receptive & caught my designs. I have got a lot of good feedbacks. It gave me confidence and or confirmed to me that Joseph Auren has a real potential and great impact in the fashion industry.
What would you write in a letter to your future self?
Just dealing about my future plans : firstly, to continue to spread my brand in the USA and still make it wearable on celebrities and get collaborations press & medias. Then, I plan to expend my brand in Asia. Finally, but not least I’m focusing to share a new collection that will make people amazed hopefully. I want to spread my vision of future in all over the world and make it real : “reaching the future before it happens
